Seven convicted girls have been wounded in an incident that occurred in Bozkurt Open Women and Children’s Prison.
According to a report by Ramazan Çetin from the Doğan News Agency (DHA), five child prisoners wanted to cross to the adults’ area. In the incident that erupted upon not being granted permission, Denizli Governorship and Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office claimed that the children injured themselves.
Prosecutor denied claim of riot
The Dicle News Agency (dihaber) reported that a riot occurred.
Five guardians were taken hostage, and the hostage guardians were rescued, according to the report.
The prosecutor’s office denied the claims.
Çardak Proscutor’s Office on Duty has launched an investigation into the incident. The institution called the psychologists for duty.
Governorship: It is an isolated incident
Denizli Governor Ahmet Altıparmak said:
“Seven prisoners were slightly injured in the fight that erupted among the prisoners due to underage prisoners requesting to smoke. This incident is not a riot or anything similar to that. It is an isolated event and the situation is under control”. (AS/TK)
