Commercial Support to Bosnia-Herzegovina

Izmir Commercial Stock-Exchange and the Bosnia Herzegovina Chamber of Foreign Trade have signed a cooperation agreement. With this agreement, the two institutions will exchange information, jointly decide on quotations and cooperate in marketing.

Tugrul Yemisci, the chairman of the board of directors of the Izmir Commercial Stock-Exchange, and Peter Milanovic, the head of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Chamber of Foreign Trade has signed a cooperation agreement.

The group from Bosnia-Herzegovina was provided with information about the Izmir Commercial Stock-Exchange before the signing ceremony began.

With this agreement, the two institutions will cooperate economically and scientifically overseeing trade in both countries.

"We have become an international stock-exchange"

Yemisci said that the Izmir Stock-Exchange "has become a center to arbitrate and solve international disagreements."

"Our stock exchange is in cooperation with the World Cotton Union. We are able to even solve the legal problems in the international agricultural trade in a few months," he said.

"Our industry receded during the war"

Milanovic stated that they expected Turkey's support.

"Our industry receded a lot during the war. We now want to move forward. Your stock exchange is a hundred years older than ours. We want to take advantage of your experience," he said.

The agreement takes into consideration the economic potentials of the two countries advocating joint publicity and encouragement, exchange of information and documents, mutual investments and marketing, and joint quotation and marketing. (NK/BB/EA/NM)
