Over 40,000 Public Officers Sacked
Over 40,000 public officers have been sacked by the Statutory Decree no. 672. The greatest number of sackings took place at the universities and the Ministry of National Education.

Thousands of public officers have been suspended from their duties by the Statutory Decree no. 672.
Over 40,000 public officers have been discharged. The institutions which saw the most sackings are the Ministry of National Education with 163,000 people and the Council of Higher Education with 2,346.
The justification of the discharges was “Being member of or affiliated with the organizations, formations, or groups which have been fixed to act against national security”. (EA/TK)
