According to the Occupational Health and Safety Council, at least 205 workers have lost their lives in occupational homicides in July and at least 1,119 workers in the first seven months of 2017.
The occupational homicides which occurred after the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 entered into force are as follows:
At least 627 workers in the first seven months of 2013,
at least 1,139 workers in the first seven months of 2014,
at least 982 workers in the first seven months of 2015,
at least 1,108 workers in the first seven months of 2016
at least 1,119 workers in the first seven months of 2017.
163 of these 205 workers are employees with the statute of laborer or public servants, 30 others are farmers/small-scale landowners and 42 are self-employed including 12 tradespeople.
Most of the homicides took place in construction sector (51) followed by agricultural and forestry sector (45).
The most common cause of homicides was traffic/service accident (49) followed by falling from high(41).

2 workers under the age of 14
8 workers in the age group of 15-17
34 workers in the age group of 18-27
99 workers in the age group of 28-50
38 workers in the age group of 51-64
9 workers above the age of 65
The ages of 15 workers could not be determined.

19 victims in İstanbul; 10 victims in Adana; 8 victims in Konya and Mersin each; 7victims in Bursa and Muğla each; 6 victims in Aydın, Denizli and Tekirdağ each; 5 victims in Hakkari, Hatay, Manisa, Sakarya and Şırnak each; 4 victims inAnkara, Balıkesir, Diyarbakır, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kastamonu, Samsun and Zonguldak each; 3 victims in Antalya, Çorum, Elazığ, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Isparta, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Malatya and Trabzon each; 2 victims in Afyon, Aksaray, Bartın, Çanakkale, Karaman, Kırıkkale, Mardin, Niğde, Osmaniye, Sinop, Şanlıurfa, Uşak and Yalova each; 1 victim in Amasya, Batman, Bilecik, Bingöl, Bolu, Düzce, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Kars, Kırklareli, Kırşehir, Kütahya, Ordu and Sivas each.
