Soldier Injured in Al-Bab Loses His Life

A soldier wounded in Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) attack during Operation Euphrates Shield launched by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Syria’s city of al-Bab has lost his life in a hospital he was brought to for treatment in Antep.

16 soldiers were killed in two days in ISIS offensive last week. Minister of Health Recep Akdağ declared that 85 soldiers wounded in the offensive were brought to Turkey and their treatment was ongoing.

With the latest killing, the number of soldiers killed during the operation has risen to 38.

Statement by the TSK

In its statement this morning (December 26), the TSK stated that at least 30 civilians lost their lives in an offensive launched by ISIS with mines and improvised explosive devices.

113 ISIS targets including organization’s shelters, defensive positions, command control facilities, arms and vehicles, the TSK added.

Syrian Observatory Human Rights (SOHR) had announced that 88 civilians including 24 children and 13 women were killed in Turkey’s air strikes in two days last week, and added that the civilians killed in Turkey’s airstrikes has reached 250.

The TSK had refuted the claims on civilian killings. (AS/TK)
