Injured during an operation launched against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) members in Turkey’s eastern Çaldıran, Van, District Gendarmerie Peace Commando Company Deputy Commander First Lieutenant Mehmet Sakallı has lost his life.
Van Governorship declared that Sakallı was injured during the operation launched by Gendarmerie Commandership forces at around 7 p.m. last night, and lost his life in the hospital where he was taken to for treatment. The governorship added that the operation continues.
Sakallı’s body was sent to Beydağ, İzmir following the funeral held in Van. (AS/TK)
