Curfew in Bitlis

Curfew was declared in five villages and two hamlets in Hizan, Bitlis as of today.

Bitlis Governorship has announced that curfew was declared in five villages and two hamlets in Hizan between 4 p.m.-7 a.m. When the curfew to end has not been stated.

According to the governorship’s statement, operations will be launched in Koçyiğit village, Doyumlu hamlet, Ekinli village, Deliktşa hamlet, and villages of Karlıtepe, Tutumlu and Gürece.

For this reason, the curfew was declared in these regions.

The Ministry of Interior appointed Governor Ahmet Çınar as political trustee to Bitlis Municipality in 2016.

Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chairs Hüseyin Olan and Nevin Daşdemir Dağkıran were detained on November 24, 2016 and then were arrested on charge of “being a member of a terrorist organization, carrying out actions on behalf of a terrorist organization, aiding and abating a terrorist organization”.

Former Bayburt Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu was appointed as mayor on June 21, 2017.
