Keep Up The Struggle Against War!

Coordination Against War in Iraq urges keeping up the struggle against United States aggression. US is not a force that can not be stopped or defeated says Public Workers leader Evren and warns the government for futher tension in Northern Iraq.

Coordination Against War in Iraq, the umbrella organization comprising some 130 Turkish NGOs against war, urges for continued mass protests against United States' (US) aggression.

They will keep on staging protests along with the global action for peace in solidarity with the Iraqi people told Public Workers' Unions Confederation (KESK) chair Sami Evren, the umbrella spokesperson Tayfun Mater and Istanbul Physicians Chamber chair Gencay Gursoy, in a Friday public statement. The three also warned the government to refrain from further tension in Northern Iraq.

"We warn those who exploit the disturbances in Northern Iraq for instigating moves what might damage the fraternity between peoples, Evren told.

Questioning the USA, "where are weapons of mass destruction, where are chemical weapons, where are the evidences of so called cooperation between Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, Evren asked.

Never to be found! Because as the US knows well, these were all lies," he replied.

Criticizing the main stream medias coverage of the US invasion "a hundred people surrounded by US tanks topple Saddam Hussein's statue and this is represented as the joy with which the Iraqi people respond to the supposed freedom brought in by the US," Evren said.
