2 New Statutory Decrees Issued, 2,756 People Discharged, 17 Institutions Closed

Two new statutory decrees were issued under the State of Emergency. Through the Statutory Decree No. 695 and 696 that were published on the official Gazette on Sunday (December 24, 2017), 2,756 public personnel have been discharged, 17 institutions including 7 associations and 7 foundations have been closed.

17 institutions including 2 newspapers closed

Through the Statutory Decree No. 695, 17 institutions have been closed including seven associations and seven foundations. One foundations that had been closed through a previous statutory decree, has been re-opened. Six students studying abroad have been expelled.

The names of the closed institutions are: Aliağa Yakamoz Hanımlar Foundation (İzmir), Batı Anadolu Teknik Elemanlar Federation (İzmir), Kapadokya Eğitim Akademisi Foundation (Nevşehir), Fatih Gençlik ve Spor Kulübü Foundation (Karabük), Güleç Sevgi Evlerini Yaşatma ve Koruma Foundation (Karabük), Kahramanmaraş Uluslararası Öğrenciler Foundation , Suriyeli Gençleri Geliştirme ve Eğitme Center (Gaziantep), Burhanettin Hayra Hizmet Foundation (İzmir), Hadimi Eğitim ve Kültür Foundation (İzmir) Türk Eğitim, Sağlık ve Çevre Foundation (TESÇEV/Kocaeli), Turgutlu Eğitim Foundation (Manisa), Hacı Paşalar Eğitim ve Kültür Foundation (Aydın), Uluslararası Hukuk ve Adalet Foundation (UHAV/Ankara), Yusuf Cevat Başçı Eğitim ve Kültür Foundation (İzmir), Akdeniz Newspaper (Isparta), Çınaraltı Newspaper (Isparta), Özel İskenderun Kalp Center (Hatay).

Türk Genç İşadamları Foundation has been re-opened.

115 people who had been discharged earlier, have been returned to their positions.

105 academics discharged

105 academics subordinated to the High Education Board (YÖK) have been discharged from their positions. In addition, 392 teachers have been discharged.

22 commissioned officers deprived off their military ranks

22 commissioned officers who were pensioned off by the Turkish Armed Forces through statutory decrees, retired on their own will, resigned or left their positions due to other reasons, have been deprived off their military ranks.

Compulsory military service lifted for relatives of civilians cooperating against terror

Children and brothers of civilians who lost their lives while offering help against terrorism incidents have been excused from compulsory military service. (PT/DG)
