Gezmiş, İnan, Aslan Commemorated in Hour of Their Execution

A commemoration ceremony was held at first light of Saturday (May 6) for Deniz Gezmiş, Yusuf Aslan and Hüseyin İnan, the three well known leaders of the 68 generation in the 45th year anniversary at 5:30 a.m; the exact hour of their execution in Üç Fidan (Three Saplings) Park of Bursa.

Gezmiş and Aslan caught in Şarkışla district of Sivas and İnan in Kayseri were sentenced to death on November 9, 1971 and were executed on May 6, 1972 in Ankara Central Closed Prison.

According to the report by Hüseyin Tüccar from Doğan News Agency (DHA), a ceremony was held at first light of Saturday for Gezmiş, Aslan and İnan. They were commemorated in Üç Fidan Park at 5.30 a.m. when they were executed 45 years ago.

Nilüfer Municipality, Nilüfer City Council and Platform for 68's Generation members stood in a 3-minute silence homage for Gezmiş, İnan and Aslan at 5:30 a.m. (NV/DG)
