İYİ Party: Our Karaçoban District Chair Has Been Shot to Death

The İYİ Party Erzurum Provincial Organization made the following statement on their official Twitter account today (June 24):

"Our Karaçoban District Chair, Dear Mehmet Sıddık Durmaz has been shot to death by the dishonorable, undignified, disreputable blood-suckers. May the Allah damn these creatures who have shed blood in these elections and killed people for the sake of a chair!"

Speaking to the Yeniçağ newspaper about the murder of Durmaz, the İYİ Party Erzurum Provincial Chair İbrahim Doğru confirmed the death of Durmaz and stated that his body was currently being taken to the hospital.

Yılan from CHP: Two more people have been killed

The Karaçoban District Chair of the main opposition party Republican People's Party (CHP) Hüsnü Yılan also stated,

"24 people appointed by the Ministry of Interior came here. We did not accept it, we denounced it. Afterwards, a young person, whose name I do not know and who is the Erzurum MP candidate of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), came here.

"We also did not accept that he stood here. Then, a quarrel erupted. They shot with guns. The District Chair of the İYİ Party Mehmet Sıddık Durmaz as well as a voting citizen and Agit Yazan lost their lives in the shooting." (PT/SD)
