US Secretary of State Pompeo: There’s ‘Long List’ of Disagreements with Turkey

United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo testified appropriations committee in the US Senate yesterday (June 27). Speaking about Turkey as well, Pompeo said that he finds Turkey purchasing S-400 “risky”.

US Senate had passed a bill that approves the cancellation of F-35 jets’ sale to Turkey in case Turkey purchases S-400 from Russia.

In his statement where he said that there is a “long list of disagreements” with Turkey, Pompeo cited detention of US Pastor Andrew Brunson and Syrian issue.

Commentingon June 24 election, Pompeo said, “I hope that the result of the election can help put in place an outcome that pleases everyone”.

President and ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdogan won in the latest election on Sunday, and his US counterpart called him to congratulate on Tuesday. (YT/PT/TK)
