3 Soldiers, 1 Village Guard Killed in Tendürek Mountain Area

Three soldiers and one village guard lost their lives, four soldiers were injured in clashes between members of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) and security forces carrying out an operation in Tendürek mountain on the border of Van's Doğubayazıt and Ağrı' Çaldıran districts this morning (May 25) in eastern Turkey.

According to a report by Doğan News Agency, an operation had been launched with support of helicopters against members of the PKK claimed to have blocked the Doğubayazıt- Çaldıran road and set trucks on fire yesterday (May 24) afternoon.

The operation continues in the region. (NV/DG)
