Erdoğan: Attack on Our Economy is No Different from Attack on Call to Prayer, Flag

President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has shared a video message on the occasion of the Sacrifice Feast to be celebrated between August 21 and August 24.

In his message, Erdoğan has also evaluated the recent increase in the foreign exchange rates in the wake of the escalating tension with the US. He has argued that the sanctions imposed by the US on Turkey is no different than a direct attack on the call to prayer and flag.

Here are some of the highlights from Erdoğan's message:

"The aim is to take the Turkish nation captive"

"The attack directed against our economy is not different than direct attacks on our call to prayer and our flag. The aim is the same. The aim is to bring Turkey and Turkish nation to their knees and take them captives.

"We are a nation, which prefers being beheaded to being brought under the yoke. The ones who think that they can bring Turkey, which they cannot make kneel with the help of terrorist organizations, gangs of betrayal among us, a thousand tricks, plots and traps, to its knees with the help of foreign exchange rates will soon see that they are mistaken."
