One in every five young people in Turkey unemployed

In the third quarter of 2021, Turkey's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 11.2 percent, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). It by 0.5 points compared to the previous quarter and by 1.8 points compared to the same period in the previous year.

Non-agriculture unemployment rate dropped by 0.6 points to 13 percent.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group decreased by 0.8 compared to the previous quarter to 21.4 percent. The employment rate in the same group was 33.7 percent, up by 1 point.

The labor force participation rate in this group rose by 0.8 points to 42.8 percent in the fourth quarter. (HA/VK)
