Private Security, Undercover Police Officers, Riot Squat on Banner Hunt
İstanbul University Private Security Unit (ÖGB) and riot police teams have stormed Faculty of Literature with the on the grounds to remove banners. Students have been battered, at least seven students are under custody.
A student from the faculty speaking to bianet on the condition of anonymity said one of his detained friends is unconscious.
"ÖGB with undercover police officers behind them entered the faculty in the noon hours. The officers started to pick on the students for no reason. They interfered banners and stands in the faculty without a warning. They called riot police when it is opposed.
"The students tried to prevent the banners being ripped off but a tumult took place as riot police arrived. ÖGB has threatened the students as usual, and the undercover police officers harassed women which has become systematical now. (BK/TK)
