Rapper ‘Burry Soprano’ arrested

Rapper Burak Aydoğduoğlu, known as 'Burry Soprano', was taken into custody in a raid by the police on the grounds that there was a final ruling of arrest against him. Following the related proceedings at the courthouse, the musician has been arrested and sent to Silivri Prison.
As reported by the pro-government Sabah newspaper based on security sources, the Silivri District Security Directorate teams detected that the rapper entered a hotel in Selimpaşa, a town at the outskirts of İstanbul. Police officers then raided his room at the hotel.
It has been reported that Burak Aydoğduoğlu, especially known for his "Mary Jane" single in Turkey and in the world, was sought by the security teams for some time due to drug use and inciting drug use.

Several social media users and rappers in Turkey have criticized the arrest of Burry Soprano. They demand his release under the hashtag #freeburrysoprano. Rapper Ezhel, who himself faced similar charges and prison term in Turkey and currently living abroad, posted a story on his Instagram account after Burry Soprano was arrested. Ezhel said:
"Release our brother Burry Soprano immediately! No one's freedom can be restricted due to his or her art. #freeburrysoprano"
