Human Rights Association (İHD) İstanbul Branch has commented on Justice and Development Party (AKP) Spokesperson Hüseyin Çelik stating that rallies of Saturday Mothers/People will not be allowed.
In the written statement, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu’s remarks on Saturday Mothers/People.
The information was provided that Saturday Mothers/People will hold a meeting tomorrow (August 31) to answer to government officials and to tell how they will proceed.
İHD’s statements are:
“Provocative remarks, prevention of Saturday Mothers’ struggle as well as provoking a peaceful civil disobedience demonstration shows that an uproar is attempted to be created in society over Saturday Mothers who are embraced by a large section of the society”.
“We as human rights defenders will always continue to be the voice and breathe of Saturday Mothers’ demand for truth and justice.
“Saturday Mothers/People will not give up searching for those who disappeared in custody and demand justice. We will stand by them”. (TP/TK)
