Sezer: MGK Decisions Were Exceeded
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer broke his silence over Cyprus for the first time. He announced that the National Security Board MGK had not adopted any decision authorizing UN Secretary General Annan to fill in the gaps in the agreement on Cyprus.
"We learned about our (alleged) promise, from the letter of the United Nations (UN) Secretary General and the minutes of the Davos meeting (Between Annan and PM Erdogan)." he told at a conference of Warfare Academies yesterday
Sezer said "The steps to be taken and decisions to be made, will not affect only us, but also the future generations, in an irreversible manner. Therefore approaching texts put before us skeptically should be found normal. " (YE)
