'Ruling AKP would receive less than 30 percent of votes in case of an election'

PİAR Research company has shared the results of its recent survey which was conducted with the participation of 2,520 people in 26 cities.

The participants of the survey were asked, "If there was a general election this sunday, for which political party would you vote?"

While 23.6 percent would vote for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) would receive 20.5 percent of the votes. The votes of the İYİ Party would stand at 9.6 percent, that of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) would be 6.7 percent and that of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) would be 8.9 percent.

While the DEVA Party of Ali Babacan, a former AKP politician, would get 4.6 percent, the Felicity Party (SP) would get 1 percent.

Even when the floating votes are distributed among the political parties, the ruling AKP's vote stands below 30 percent while that of the DEVA Party can reach 6 percent. The rate of floating votes and the ones who would not vote in the election has been measured as 22.9 percent.

The rates of votes are as follows when the floating votes are distributed: 30.6 percent for the AKP; 26.6 percent for the CHP; 12.4 percent for the İYİ Party; 11.5 percent for the HDP, 8.7 percent for the MHP; 6 percent for the DEVA Party; 1.3 percent for the SP. In other words, the MHP, DEVA and SP would not pass the 10-percent electoral threshold in case of an election in Turkey.

According to these results, the ruling People's Alliance of the AKP and MHP would receive 39.3 percent of the votes while the opposition Nation's Alliance of the CHP and İYİ Party would get 39 percent. (RT/SD)
