Two people have been arrested in the district of Ceyhan in Adana due to their social media posts.
Nine people, who were taken into custody in house raids conducted on March 30, were referred from the Security Directorate to Ceyhan Courthouse yesterday (April 12).
The ones who gave their depositions to the Prosecutor's Office were referred to court for arrest on charge of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" due to their social media posts.
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency, the Criminal Court of Justice has ruled that seven of the detained people shall be released on probation while two others shall be arrested.
Eight people are currently in detention
In home raids carried out by the teams from Ceyhan District Security Directorate in the district of Ceyhan, Adana on April 11, eight people were detained due to their social media posts on charges of "propagandizing for an illegal organization" and "insulting President".
The Ministry of Interior previously announced that 337 social media accounts had been investigated and legal action had been taken against 154 people over last week.
In a statement on February 26, the Ministry also made public that 845 people who criticized Afrin operation on social media and participated in protests had been detained. (AS/SD)
