Association for Development, Migration and Social Policies (DEMIS), a non-governmental organization, has published a report on participation and visibility of men and women on television programs.
In the report entitled, "Prime Time Discussion Programs in Terms of Representation of Women and Men Participants", more than 40 panel discussion programs which were aired on prime time between October 2 and November 2, 2018 were examined.
The programs were selected from different platforms like cable TV, several pay TV platforms and satellite TV.
Some of the findings of the research are as follows:
-During the time research was conducted, 135 women and 667 men took part in the news and discussion programs, including the program presenters.
-Except for the presenters, 69 women commentators and 554 men commentators participated in the programs.
-There were more than 70 men-only programs during the period, compared to only two women-only discussion programs, which were both on health issues.
-In the programs, where "important" agenda items regarding daily life, politics or foreign affairs of the country were discussed, women participation even decreased.
-Among the 13 participants who were on a TV program more than six times during the research, only one of them was a woman.

Association for Development, Migration and Social Policies (DEMIS) was established in December 2016.
